IDASH is a new program of the Australian Shepherd Health & Genetics Institute
Inc. (ASHGI) intended to provide breeders with additional tools for making informed
breeding decisions as regards health issues in the Australian Shepherd. It will
offer two services:

PEDIGREE ANALYSIS - Reviews pedigrees for dog owners to determine risk levels for
over twenty-five inherited diseases and faults. Analysis will be performed for owners
of dogs only. At this point, the work is done largely by hand, so only a limited
number of appointments can be offered in any given year. We are in the process of
developing a secure computerized system to perform the database search and calculations.
When that is completed, processing will be much improved and we will lift the limitation
on appointments. Fee: $20 per pedigree.

OPEN HEALTH DATABASE - Under development. Long-range plans include an on-line
searchable database containing public domain and owner-submitted health data on
Australian Shepherds.
