Crooked & Kinked Tails

How common are crooked or kinked tails and how are they inherited?

10% of the NBT dogs reported to the 2009-10 ASHGI health survey had kinked tails.  Only one was reported in a dog that was not NBT so the association with bobbed tails is strong.  There is unknown whether crooked or kinked tails are inherited or, if they are, what the mode of inheritance might be.
