MINIATURE AUSTRALIAN/AMERICAN SHEPERDS AND TOY AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS
ASHGI’s primary focus is the health and genetics of the Australian Shepherd Breed. While we will do what we can to direct any dog owner or breeder to needed information or resources we lack the staffing and expertise to provide all our services for other breeds, including Miniature Australian (or American) Shepherds (MAS) or Toy Australian Shepherds (TAS).
ASHGI lacks significant health and pedigree data for either MAS or TAS and what little health and pedigree data we have is dated. Therefore we cannot provide useful reports or information and therefore do not provide pedigree analysis, Open Health Database listings, or additions of new data to our pedigree database for either MAS or TAS.
We do acknowledge that there may be some MAS or TAS in our data which comes from data pre-dating ASHGI’s current programs or data received from other health organizations.
ASHGI encourages owners and breeders of these dogs to urge their clubs to set up breed-specific programs for their benefit. ASHGI would be happy to consult with any national breed club wishing to develop its owner program to offer suggestions and advice.
